Now, I will explain how to disinfect and clean the Murmo menstrual cup.

I would like to tell you whether menstrual cups need to be boiled to sterilize them, when you should do so, and what you should do.

Do menstrual cups need to be sterilized by boiling?

Menstrual cups must be boiled for sterilization. However, they only need to be boiled twice a year, at the beginning and end of each menstrual cycle. Of course, there's no harm in boiling them every time you change them, but after boiling, you can wash them with soap or other ordinary detergents during your period.

You can also sterilize by boiling using a microwave, which may seem like a hassle at first, but once you get used to it, it won't seem so difficult.

The process for disinfecting and cleaning your menstrual cup

Menstrual cups are used to collect menstrual blood and are meant to be used once your period has started.

1. Boil and sterilize before use

2. When changing the filter every 12 hours or less, wash it with water or hot water and a mild detergent such as soap.

3. After your period ends, boil and disinfect it.

4. Dry or wipe off any moisture and keep closed

How to sterilize a menstrual cup by boiling it

Some people may think that boiling sterilization is a very troublesome process. Here, we will introduce two methods: using a microwave and using a pot.

1. Using a microwave and a heat-resistant container

2. Using a microwave and a heat-resistant steamer

3. Using a pot

1. Using a microwave and a heat-resistant container

Put Murmo in a microwave-safe heat-resistant container, add enough water to cover it, and heat until it boils.

①Put the menstrual cup and water in a heat-resistant container
Please rinse your menstrual cup with water to remove any dirt before boiling.

② Add water until the menstrual cup is completely submerged.

3. Cover the heat-resistant container and place it in the microwave.

④The recommended heating time is 5 minutes at 500-600W.
Please adjust the amount individually as it depends on the size of the container and the amount of water.

⑤Remove from microwave
The container is hot so be careful not to burn yourself. We recommend leaving it in the microwave for 1-2 minutes before removing it.

⑥ Open the lid, remove the menstrual cup, let it cool and dry naturally.
It is dangerous to insert it into the vagina when it is hot, so please allow it to cool completely before inserting it.

②Check the amount of water, cover the steamer and place in the microwave

3. Using a pot

Put murmo into boiling water so that it is fully submerged and boil for about 5 minutes.

① Fill the pot with water until the menstrual cup is submerged.

Heat the water in the pot until it boils
Do not insert the menstrual cup at this time.

3. Place the menstrual cup in boiling water
Wash your menstrual cup to remove any dirt before boiling it.
The silicone material used in Murmo has a high heat resistance, so there is no need to worry about it melting on the bottom of the pot, and there is no need to stir it to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pot.

④Boil for more than 5 minutes
Be careful not to let it boil over.

⑤ Stop heating and remove the menstrual cup

⑥ Cool and let it dry naturally and it's done
